In a very quiet fashion, Demetrious Johnson known as the Mighty Mouse has transformed into one of the very best pound-for-pound fighters ever seen in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA).

The 30-year old has cleared out the entire Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight division as he moves on to nine-straight title defenses. He hopes he can push further, thus extending his winning streak to 10 and tying Anderson Silva’s UFC record this April on FOX.

Speaking to MMA fighting earlier last week, the Mighty Mouse said:

“My next fight is set to tie Anderson Silva’s record for the most consecutive title fight defenses in UFC history.

“I put it out in the media and to UFC, immediately after my last fight that I wanted to do it in Las Vegas in March. Unfortunately, the next guy in line was fighting in February, so it had to be pushed back.”

Johnson added that he would love for his next fight to be held in Las Vegas where his friends, family members, fans and followers can come around to watch as he makes history by reaching the greatest pinnacle in the world of Mixed Martial arts, whilst still remaining the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

Johnson revealed that the next date given him by the UFC matchmaker was April 15 and to be held in Kansas City. He stated that he would not like to wait till July for another Las Vegas card before he can fight once again.

This means, friends, followers and families would have to travel a bit if they wish to see him in action.

In 2013 alone, Johnson headlined three FOX cards. He most probably would do the same once more if he put his title on the line opposite Reis at UFC on FOX 24.
